Parts Technician

Position Summary:

Due to the busy schedule at the Neerlandia Co-op Service Center we are looking to grow our team and add another Parts Technician.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

      • Provide technical information on parts and materials to shop personnel and customers.
      • Suggest alternative parts that may be suitable or make special arrangements with parts distributors to quickly obtain parts.
      • Determine the most appropriate supplier for the various parts. Order parts and materials via email or phone.
      • Determine and maintain appropriate levels of parts inventory by analyzing previous use, anticipating future needs, and cost consideration.
      • Offload and receive parts and materials from suppliers and check the deliveries for damage, quality, and quantity. Store parts according to prearranged system or distribute parts to the appropriate user. Complete all associated transactions related to the purchase of deliveries received.
      • Handling and sorting of parts and labeling and/or organization of store front.
      • Issuing and returning of inventory; return warranty parts to appropriate vendors, and ensuring all credits are processed to corresponding accounts.
      • Provide excellent customer service to all new and returning customers.
      • Maintain a neat and clean work environment.
      • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Valid high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Apprentice or Journeyman Certification
  • Preference will be given to Journeyman or 3rd year apprentice

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication)
  • High attention to detail
  • High level of energy with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 50lbs
  • Ability to follow protocols and directions
