Automotive Technician

Position Summary:

Due to the busy schedule at the Neerlandia Co-op Service Center we are looking to grow our team and add another Automotive Technician. The Automotive Technician is responsible for the repair and preventive automotive maintenance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

      • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and alignments.
      • Diagnosing and repairing a wide range of light to medium duty vehicles.
      • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
      • Communicating with the Service Advisor about the status of vehicles to keep customers informed.
      • Using computerized testing equipment, conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.

Accountability

The Automotive Technician will report directly to the Service Centre Manager and align objectives with Neerlandia Co-op shared values, purpose, and vision.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Valid high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Apprentice or Journeyman Certification
  • Preference will be given to Journeyman or 3rd year apprentice

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
  • High Attention to detail
  • Strong ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical components
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication)
  • High level of energy with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and be responsible
  • The ability and commitment to work in a safe manner
