Deli/Bakery Clerk

Summary

Primarily, you will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and presenting food created within the Deli/Bakery department. Other duties to be completed simultaneously are maintaining cleanliness of the workspace and providing exceptional customer service to all who enter our grocery store. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and provide information regarding any Deli/Bakery items.
  • Safety manage food operation machines and equipment.
  • Ensure all products within the Deli/Bakery are properly labeled with prices and dates.
  • Clean and properly store all food equipment and utensils daily.
  • Provide carry-out service for all customers.
  • Stock deli/bakery shelves, coolers, freezers and create product displays.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Food safety is considered an asset
  • Prior experience working in a retail setting would be considered an asset
  • 1-3 years of customer service would be considered an asset
  • High School Diploma

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 50lbs
  • Ability to follow protocols and directions
  • Dependable, honest, committed, positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
