Position Summary:

Due to the busy schedule at the Neerlandia Co-op Service Center we are looking to grow our team and add another Automotive Technician. The Automotive Technician is responsible for the repair and preventive automotive maintenance.

General Duties:

  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and alignments.
  • Diagnosing and repairing a wide range of light to medium duty vehicles.
  • Communicating to advisor about the status of vehicles to keep customers informed.
  • Using computerized testing equipment, conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.

Other 

  • Keep facilities and grounds clean and tidy, well maintained, and free from hazards
  • Perform necessary housekeeping duties
  • Participate in safe work environment, striving to follow OHS standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

Accountability

  • Report to the Service Center Manager
  • To align objectives with Neerlandia Co-op shared values, mission, and vision.

Qualifications/Abilities:

Education and Experience

  • Valid high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Preference will be given to 3rd/4th year apprentice or Journeyman

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication)
  • High level of energy with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and be responsible
