Firearms Sales and Support
Position Summary:
The Neerlandia Co-op Sportsman Centre is seeking to fill a full-time Firearms Sales and Support position. This individual will work alongside the department staff and ensure that customers are greeted and assisted with all their sporting goods needs.
Core duties include, but are not limited to:
- Work with staff, suppliers and customers via phone, in person, or by email, to complete product orders
- Maintain office records and files covering daily transactions made at the facility that includes customer invoices, stock transfers and shipment notices
- Complete administrative correspondence as required; including but not limited to letters, memo’s, emails, and invoicing
- Receive product with clear recording methods and effective tracking of current inventory
- Assist in the planning and coordinating of proper warehousing of product
- Assist with inventory control by tracking inventory coming in and going out of the location
- Assist with inventory spot checks and monthly/yearly inventory cut-offs
- Check shipments for damaged articles, quality and quantity of merchandise received, and place goods in designated storage areas as required
- Keep manager informed of levels of existing stock
- Claim damaged/ incorrect goods
- Keep facilities and grounds clean and tidy, well maintained, and free from hazards
- Perform necessary housekeeping duties
- Participate in safe work environment, striving to follow OHS standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Accountability
- Report to the Sporting Goods Supervisor
- To align objectives with Neerlandia Co-op shared values, mission, and vision.
Qualifications/Abilities:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Experience in Firearm Sales is considered an asset
- Fork-lift certification is considered an asset
- Experience working with Mi9 point of sales system is considered an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
- Knowledge to effectively use Microsoft word, excel, and Office
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication)
- High level of energy with strong customer service skills
- Ability to follow protocols and directions
- Ability to lift, pull, push, minimum of 50lbs
- Dependable, honest, committed, positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Interest in hunting, fishing, target practice and/or other outdoor activities
